Rhubarb Events Achieves One-Star Food Made Good Rating
At Rhubarb Events, we are proud to share that in May 2026, we achieved a one-star Food Made Good Standard rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
This recognition marks an important milestone in our sustainability journey and reflects our ongoing ambition to create a more positive impact on both people and the planet through every aspect of our business.
What is Food Made Good?
Food Made Good is the world’s leading food and beverage sustainability certification. Designed as a holistic, 360-degree assessment, it evaluates hospitality businesses across a comprehensive 10-point framework, answering the question: “What does good look like for a foodservice business?”
The certification measures impact across three key pillars:
- Sourcing
- Society
- Environment
As part of the certification process, we undertook an in-depth audit of our operations, with our Impact Manager and Executive Chef, Keiran Rielly, leading the process. He explored how sustainability and social responsibility are shaping the way we source ingredients, design menus, support communities and reduce environmental impact across the business.
Driving Positive Change Through Food
Seasonality continues to play a central role across our menus, allowing us to champion high-quality produce while reducing environmental impact. We champion using fresh British ingredients at the best possible point in the season. For example, our current Spring / Summer menu features British asparagus, available only from April to June, alongside British strawberries at their peak in the height of summer, showcased in our strawberry & crème fraîche fraisier dessert.
Our chefs have also expanded the range of lower-carbon plant-led dishes, creating thoughtful menus that celebrate sustainable ingredients without compromising on flavour or experience. A team favourite dish from our summer menu is the aubergine schnitzel, served with Vduja & preserved lemon sauce. Delicious and completely plant-based!
Reducing food waste remains another key focus area for our team. Through careful stock management and considered menu planning, we are continually improving how we minimise waste across our operations.
Supporting Communities Through The Invisible Guest
One initiative we are particularly proud of is our Invisible Guest programme, created in partnership with The Felix Project.
Through the initiative, clients of Rhubarb Events are invited to donate £100 to The Felix Project, which we then match as a business. Together, this contribution helps provide up to 400 meals to people in need across London communities.
The programme reflects our wider commitment to creating meaningful social impact beyond the events we deliver.
Looking Ahead
Receiving this certification is an encouraging step forward for our business. The evaluation has provided us with a clear roadmap for the next phase of our sustainability work, helping us identify where we are making strong progress and where we can continue to improve.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey and we remain committed to building a more responsible future for hospitality and events.
