As summer drew to a close last week, we celebrated in style high above the city skyline. Sunset by Rhubarb brought guests together at The Lookout, our exclusive 50th-floor venue at 8 Bishopsgate, to toast the season’s end whilst showcasing the very best of what we do. Find out more below...
Golden Hour Welcome
Our creative and culinary teams collaborated seamlessly to deliver an experience that captured the essence of Sunset by Rhubarb. Guests were greeted with golden hour drinks from frozen margaritas in five vibrant flavours to English sparkling wine from Rathfinny Estate. Canapés, created with equal attention to taste and presentation, circulated as guests explored The Lookout and admired the panoramic views.
A Culinary Showcase
As the sky turned to shades of soft pink and orange, the vibrant stall food experience was served, blending creativity, sustainability and a little bit of theatre. One of which featured rich Windsor Park Estate venison, sustainably raised and served with seasonal accompaniments. Click to view the story behind this stall, told by Executive Chef, Kieran Reilly.
Meanwhile, the seafood stall offered a surprising plant-based twist with oysterless king mushroom “oysters”, a textured, flavour-packed reinvention of a luxury classic.
Culinary Magic
Each foodie element showcased Rhubarb’s commitment to seasonal sourcing and culinary craft. To finish the evening, our chefs took to the floor to deliver the sweet note with honey & plum ice cream, topped with bee pollen & all butter shortbread.
A Look to Match the Taste
The space itself reflected the same attention to detail as the menu. Bespoke Events London was the mastermind behind production, Mary Jane Vaughan’s signature florals brought colour to The Lookout, while Velvet Living brought furniture. Behind the scenes, Jones Hire curated the perfect tableware, Cover It Up provided drapes to offer our seamless unveils of stalls, and Crescent Moon Events provided chandeliers offering the wow factor. Of course, the night was not complete without a live DJ provided by Velvet Entertainment to dance well into the night with the city lights as a backdrop.
