Set beneath one of London's most iconic maritime landmarks, 150 guests gathered at the Cutty Sark for an exclusive evening hosted by a private client. Combining exceptional hospitality, seasonal dining and one of London's most remarkable event spaces, the evening offered guests a memorable experience beneath the historic tea clipper.

A Reception Under the Hull

Guests were welcomed beneath the soaring copper hull of the Cutty Sark for a drinks reception in the Dry Berth. As conversations flowed, a selection of seasonal canapés was served throughout the space, offering a vibrant introduction to the evening's menu.

The canapé selection featured carrot tuile with salt-baked carrot and smoked oat crème fraîche, whipped goat's cheese with tomato relish and truffle pearls, black tiger prawn toast with sesame, soy and wasabi, buttermilk fried chicken with pineapple hot sauce and blue cheese dressing, and smoked Scamorza arancini with broad beans and preserved lemon.

Dining Beneath a London Icon

Guests were invited to take their seats for dinner beneath the ship, where a carefully curated three-course menu celebrated seasonal produce and contemporary flavours.

The first course featured whipped White Lake English feta paired with marinated summer vegetables, heritage tomatoes and a gazpacho vinaigrette. Light, colourful and full of freshness, the dish reflected the season while providing an elegant start to the meal.

For the main course, Cornish hake was served with a saffron hake croquette, red pepper Espelette purée, dashi-poached fennel and roasted fish butter sauce. 

To finish, guests enjoyed a citrus meringue tartlet with lemon and yuzu curd, citrus confit, pink grapefruit, toasted sesame sponge and lemon sorbet.

The Dry Berth allowed guests to dine directly beneath the world-famous Cutty Sark, surrounded by its remarkable maritime heritage while enjoying a contemporary dining experience. 

The contrast between the historic setting and the modern menu created a distinctive atmosphere, giving guests an experience that was both uniquely London and memorable.
