Chelsea Square is a striking venue featuring a breathtaking chapel, grand staircases, private gardens, and the impressive Refectory.
The iconic red-brick Chelsea Square was built in 1895 as part of the General Theological Seminary complex and has since been the backdrop to some of New York’s most unique and memorable events. Perfect for weddings, corporate, and nonprofit events, it accommodates up to 300 in a space which combines historic charm with modern elegance.

The spaces
The crown jewel is the Refectory, a cathedral-like, Gothic panelled grand hall with gilded arched ceilings and towering stained glass windows, reached by an immense baronial marble staircase. Located in the Heart of the Chelsea Gallery District on West 20th Street, the stunning building is surrounded by lush private gardens, creating a beautiful oasis in the heart of the city.
